Why Read?

I have been reading since I could hold books on my own and babble out words of things I was seeing. It is my natural instinct to love books. I have always been that person that seeks out the book section in any store and buy book after book even though I had a stack at home with ones on my TBR list. Nothing compares to the smell of a book pages flashing by your nose. Library books typically smell the best. If you know, you know.
But not everyone has this same love or instinct. That doesn't mean you can't or won't be a reader. I believe everyone needs to give reading a chance. There are so many things that hold people back from reading and most of them fear. Fear of being bored, wasting time, dyslexia, slow reading, unable to read, etc. But all of those things can be worked on. There is something for everyone in the reading world. All you have to do is ask yourself why you don't read and then find the solution. If nothing else, just give a book a chance. You can do this for free by going to your local library, find a section of books that has your topic of interest and either find a seat there or take it to the comfort of your own home. Trying something new is always scary or fearful but the benefit will certainly out weigh the risk.
I am someone who loves to read all kinds of genres. I do typically like mysteries and romance but I like to throw in some self-help, business, even some history. I like to be well rounded. Therefore, if you need a recommendation, tell me what you like and I bet I can find a good book for you.
What is one book you have read and enjoyed? If you can't answer this question today, how soon will you?
